Lakeway Homes for Sale

Due west of Austin, you will find the city of Lakeway. Situated in picturesque west Travis County , Lakeway is right on Lake Travis . State Highway 620 takes you right into the city, and if you don't care to drive, there are plenty of other ways to get into town. Austin 's Bergstrom International Airport is only about 35 minutes from Lakeway and the city can also be easily accessed by the US290/TX71 freeway.

Education in Lakeway

In the Austin area, the Lake Travis Independent School District, first established in 1981, is known for its excellent education standards and for the high achievement of its students. The school district is able to boast a low 16 to 1 student to faculty ratio. Honors courses, extracurricular activities, computer classes, and other curriculum features are all available to students living in Lakeway. In addition, the Lake Travis Independent School District does a good job of preparing students for college: over 40% of the faculty members in the district have graduate degrees. Golf and Tennis in Lakeway

Lakeway offers some of the most unique and impressive golf opportunities in the nation. The city is home to four 18-hole golf courses. In the city of Lakeway , residents can find Yaupon, which features grills, pro shops, and stunning views of Texas hill country and the lake. The city of Lakeway is also home to the Live Oak golf course, which has a pro shop and grill. Here, golfers will enjoy playing surrounded by majestic oak trees. For something even more unique, golfers may want to play at the Hills Country Club, designed by Jack Nicklaus. The Hills of Lakeway golf course is famous in the region for its 15-foot natural waterfall. Be sure to take a look - it can be found at the seventh hole. The Hills clubhouse offers golfers a locker room, pro shop, grill, and a comfortable dining room. Lakeview club members also can enjoy visiting the most advanced golf instruction center in the nation at The Academy of Golf in the Hills. With a par 3, 4 and 5, it is perfect for brushing up on the game; this is the perfect place to fall in love with the green all over again. Residents of Lakeway can now also enjoy the new Flintrock Falls golf course.

Tennis players will certainly not be disappointed with the city. Lakeway's The World of Tennis was recognized by World Tennis magazine as one of the top 25 tennis facilities on earth. Tennis Magazine awarded The World of Tennis with the title of one of the 50 greatest facilities in the country. The World of Tennis boasts 2 indoor courts and 26 courts overall. The World of Tennis is not the only tennis facility in town. Near the Live Oak clubhouse, you will find The Lakeway Tennis Center, with six tennis courts.

It is mandatory for everyone who owns property in the Hills to retain at least a social membership, at minimum, in the Hills club. However, a full or tennis membership gives residents additional benefits. Memberships can be upgraded at any time. Members have access to all Lakeway and Hills amenities and members also enjoy special rates on amenities.

The Lakeway Marina

The biggest full-service marina on Lake Travis can be found in Lakeway. The Lakeway Marina is home to more than 350 covered boat slips, fuel service, and a parts department. Conveniently situated near the Lakeway Resort and Conference Center , the marina offers parasailing tours, fishing guides, and boat rentals. Whether you want a boat for fishing, skiing, or just relaxing, daily rentals of a number of boats, including pontoon, pedal and runabouts are available at the marina. Parks in Lakeway

If you love green spaces, you will be pleased to know that there are three parks in Lakeway, overseen by The Lakeway Parks and Recreation Department. Right on Lake Travis you will find The Lakeway City Park. This 64-acre green area is perfect for recreation. The park boasts basketball courts, picnic areas, many trees, playground equipment, lake views, hiking trails, and much more. It is home to a number of community events, such as Parks Day, fishing derbies, the Easter egg hunt, Breakfast with Santa, Halloween Parade, and yearly 4th of July celebrations. The park is an excellent place for relaxing in solitude or enjoying the company of others.

Lakeway is also home to two greenbelts which run along creeks in the area. The greenbelts are fully mapped and feature many miles of walking trails in pristine nature. If you love bird watching or outdoor exercise, the greenbelts are sure to delight.

Lakeway's newest park is The Canyonlands. This 20 acre park features a scenic canyon which affords amazing views. The Canyon reaches from Rough Hollow Cove to the west of the city. Lakeway is also home to Porpoise Park, a small and sunny park right in the middle of the city. In addition, Lakeway residents can enjoy Dragon Park , which features many recreational areas that are perfect for children.

I found this realtor group though Yelp and after a quick survey through their site asking what areas I was looking in, Ashley Vavasour called me. She was super professional, realistic in telling me what my budget could allow, and showed up to our first property in a mask, which I appreciated (we both wore masks during every meet). Ashley asked me my thoughts about places we saw, and also gave me her honest opinion on places that weren’t up to par, whether there was no guest parking (we looked at condos first) or a maze of tight spaces. I valued her feedback and validation of what I was thinking, but couldn’t quite articulate, being a first time home buyer. After talking, I decided a house would be a better option for the same amount of money (a backyard for the dog, no neighbors sharing walls). I wanted certain things : an already established neighborhood with trees, nature nearby, and a place that didn’t need a lot of work. Ashley made the process super smooth and easy, was always professional and to-the-point, and advocated for me along the way. As to your question about what Tara did especially well; there were so many things. She absolutely always made the time to show us a house we expressed interest in….she never said “oh no, I can’t show you that house”–she never let us down. Overall, the sales transaction of our home was very good. The only stress I felt was from the title company which was absolutely not Tara’s fault in any way. The title company agent was really not great and that was just our luck as that company was selected by the seller. Tara really made the buying process great.

My family is very grateful to Tara. We are living in our dream home and we are so happy!

Tara McGuire has been an amazing Realtor for me! I really can’t say enough good things. She worked with me to sell my house and buy another one. First of all – selling. I could tell from our initial meeting that she has all of her ducks in a row and thinks of everything. She has a ton of experience and she has a great team who help to support her success. She also is in the loop with contacts for other vendors (home improvement, financial related, etc.) that ended up being important with getting the house ready and actually crucial during the option period for the buyers (an impartial foundation assessment company). I was really impressed with the stager I had access to, and the professional photos of my house were fantastic (both no additional cost for me). Now, buying. I’ve had some twists and turns on my wish list and buying process but Tara has been patient with me and seems to have endless energy with marathon house tour days. I toured some open houses on my own as well, and one of the agents hosting an open house knows Tara and couldn’t say enough good things about her, which reassured me even more than I already knew I made a great choice. One thing that struck me is that she said Tara has a lot of great systems and processes in place and I totally see that. Now we are under contact for our new house, which we are really excited about, and will close this week! I loved that she is taking care of everything for me – she even scheduled the inspection and told me to show up at the end. One thing that I really noticed is that she knows what to say and when. For example, she recommended we go out of town the weekend we listed the house for sale. She gave me a couple interim updates and told me when I got my first offer (plus I had access to the system that records the visits) but basically didn’t worry me about anything until we got all the offers in (7!) and presented which one was best and why it was best. On the other hand, when I was buying, she kept me in the loop with every action – she submitted the offer, the other agent acknowledged, how any negotiations were going, etc. There’s no doubt Tara is a great choice!
