Ruth helped us to view many houses and (over months) to make multiple offers in a really, really tough market for buyers. Our low bids were our own fault! Ruth’s guesses are always spot on. We finally had a bid accepted last month, and Ruth helped us re-negotiate after significant problems were discovered. Ruth has gone above and beyond for us, giving us far more time during this long search than we could reasonably have expected. She even helped us look for a rental when we’d basically given up. Her advice has always been immensely valuable and brutally honest. She is the most knowledgeable agent I’ve met on the Central Austin market. She also handled our stress well, and believe me, buying in Austin right now is stressful!
I had the good fortune of meeting Ruth twenty-one years ago when she was my agent and I bought my first house. Her knowledge of Austin communities and surrounding areas was so helpful. Ruth Powers is an excellent real estate agent! She is very patient and has a great sense of humor. She drove me to over 30 houses, some of which she knew I would not be interested in, but took me anyway because I insisted! She is very knowledgeable about the area and about the houses and where they were situated, such as behind a fire station. I highly recommend Ruth Powers. She made a horrible experience of renting/selling my home a breeze. She was extremely flexible and accommodating. I don’t know what I would have done without her over these past couple of years, and I don’t know where to begin to sing my praises about Ruth. She was simply amazing. Ruth was fantastic! When we bought our current house, Ruth was the seller’s agent and she was never pushy, she made us feel comfortable with the process and was very professional in all of our discussions. So when it came to selling our house, we interviewed 3 agents just to do our due diligence, but again Ruth’s professionalism was a step above the rest. During the selling process, we always felt Ruth had our best interest in mind and would not settle for anything substandard and I have fairly high standards. Although there were some challenges during the sale (all from the buyer’s side), Ruth fought for our positions and did a great job of insulating us from some of the craziness and always remained calm and collected, which provided us with peace of mind during the process. Ruth is an outstanding professional and we were blessed to find her and work with her. I highly recommend Ruth and can only hope to work with her again in the future.

We have thoroughly enjoyed working with Ruth over the past 10+ years. She truly cares for her clients, understands their needs and looks out for the best for them. In selling our home with Ruth this November, she took the extra effort to come to the house and walk us though room by room how to best prepare the house. She brought in and helped set up her own staging items to make the home even more appealing. Ruth arranged excellent professional photographs of the home and amenities, which looked great in the listing and in the beautiful brochure. In negotiations, she looks out for your best interests and pays attention to the finer details like warranties and HOA transfer fees, etc, and tries to negotiate the most reasonable deal for her client. She is always quick to respond to texts, e-mails and calls and has gone over and above working on evenings, weekends and even on her vacation time if there is an urgent issue to deal with. We always felt like we were in good hands with Ruth as our agent!

I have used her services before so I knew of her high level of professionalism. But this time it was a compete package, the experience of having her involved in the improvements phase paid off dividends achieving a high level of presentation to this unit; which resulted in an immediate sale and a very well presented and efficient unit for the new owners. She was able to work with my contractor and have a positive impact in the final overall result. She represented her company and the realtors association as a team who care for our needs and was able to produce immediate positive results. Mrs. Powers have the expertise and she was able to take the time needed to produce great results. For me she is a great knowledgeable realtor and I will be happy to recommend her and her company to anyone who asks my opinion.
Ruth Powers of Realty Austin is a top notch real-estate agent. I have used her services for my first house, back in 2003, based upon a review of her by a close friend, and she did not fail to disappoint. I was a bachelor at the time, and we bachelors are typically done in 5 or 6 showings. Not me – I made it to 15 houses before deciding. She was behind me all the way, and even took me to a few houses she did NOT recommend I purchase, just to show me the difference of what makes a good vs house. I have recommended her to my friends ever since, and she has delighted them as much as me. Fast forward to now and why I am writing this review no longer a bachelor, and we needed to move. Ruth engaged with my wife and I and helped us navigate the (for us) uncharted waters of selling and buying at the same time. She did so with grace no doubt based on her years of experience, and fought hard for us to be able to close on both deals. We nearly lost our purchase 3 times due to adverse actions on the part of the seller, but she kept up the pressure. She worked with us to make our target numbers in both directions, and was exemplary in all areas. I really can’t recommend her any more highly.

The Ruth Powers I know has been a phenomenal agent/friend in both the purchasing and selling of houses for me. Since 2006, Ruth found 2 great investment houses for me, and negotiated the sale of 3 others that I already owned. But, most important of all, Ruth found the most perfect home for my parents. Last year I needed to move my aging parents to Austin. Almost every day, my parents say how grateful they are to be in the same town with their daughters, and what a \castle\" they now live in. The location of the home meant everything to them…nearCatholic church, quiet street, and friendly, caring neighbors. A special celebration has not gone by without Ruth dropping off a plant, flowers, food, or a special gift for them. She has even rearranged her schedule to walk/run with my 81-year-old mother. I am not the easiest person to deal with. In fact, I am awful to work with/for. So, I know she used all her people skills in keeping me calm and collected during all our negotiations. Ruth is more than a real estate agent. She accepted my texts and phone calls at hours of the day and night that most people would ignore. She has always been thoughtful, kind, considerate and patient with me, and with those that I have referred. What some may claim to be a fault…total honesty; others know as a virtue. My experience at today's closing was like all the others – GREAT!
I have to start off by saying that we were the quintessential naive first time home buyers. We walked into this with a little money and no clue what to do. Despite our lack of experience and constant questions, these ladies were extremely patient and kind! Ruth was our rock during all the issues that we experienced with the first lender. There were many times I would look at my phone, read email and I would immediately be filled with stress and anxiety. Almost instantly I would receive a follow-up email from Ruth and she was taking care of it. We put 100% trust in Ruth and she never let us down. Even after filing two applications with one lender and then having to switch to a different lender, Ruth was there for us and never gave up. I cannot express how grateful we are to have the privilege to work with Ruth. Also, I have been sharing the gospel of Ruth to everybody and referring her to all of our house looking friends.
As a former licensed realtor, I’m familiar with the buying and selling processes. When my husband and I decided it was time to engage a broker to purchase a new home, we chose Ruth Powers. I’ve known Ruth for many years. She assisted us with the purchase of an investment property ten years ago, so the choice for a realtor was a "no-brainer." My husband and I let her know we wanted a particular style of home for a certain price. Ruth was not only patient with us, but she also gave us a lot of options. We looked at a variety of locations. She recommended a builder and an area that we were not familiar with, never pushing us too hard. After a couple of years of contemplating, looking at several homes and neighborhoods, we found our dream home, with a view, at a great price. If you are a buyer, rest assured that Ruth is not in it for the money. She wants you to find the home that meets all your needs. Her goal is to have satisfied clients. We felt comfortable knowing that she was watching out for us. Once we found the home to buy, she was there for the walk through inspections, builder meetings, closing, etc. She was always available to coach us through the process, and she was a firm advocate for us when dealing with the builder. As a seller, she was meticulous about recommending ways to stage our home. Ruth spent a lot of time with me suggesting staging ideas for each room, repairs, even referring contractors. We had been in our home for over 20 years, so we had a big job, and Ruth was extremely helpful, even meeting contractors at the house when we were too

Being new to Austin and not connected, I connected with Ruth based on their recommendations and trust. Ruth was constantly responsive to my communication and worked hard to set up appointments with houses that met many of the criteria on my \must have\lists. She also understood when my work got very busy, and I needed to put this whole process on hold for a while until a time I was ready to re-commit to this process.
